Make Silver Earrings with Charlotte Whitmore

Come and spend a few hours in the jewellery workshop, where you will learn traditional jewellery making techniques, including forming and texturing metal and silver soldering.

You will practise first in copper and then go on to use silver sheet and wire to make your own pair of silver ear studs and silver hoops which you can take home with you.

Please bring an apron, or wear old clothes, and suitable footwear.

People Powered Press at Sunny Bank Mills

Made using Brico – a type design system created by Oli Bentley of Split, designer, visual artist and printmaker Anthony Burrill and wood type maker, designer and printer Thomas Mayo – the works include a 12-metre wide mural, a collection of individual letters 1.5-metres tall and a photographic exhibition of works installed across Bradford and Leeds since 2021.

Open 10am – 4pm Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd March on the 3rd floor of the 1912 Mill. FREE entry.

Song writing course (ages 11-18)

Every Wednesday evening in March 2025.

Open to anyone aged 11- 18, Leeds Library and Cloth Cat invite you to a Song writing and creating course led by tutor Sean Howe. 

In this 4 week course, we will explore choosing a theme, writing lyrics and structuring a song. Whilst Sean specialises in alternative music, all styles of music will be catered for at the course, no matter what genre you're into.  

'The Secrets of the children's illustrators' character design workshop

Join local artist and illustrator Tim Gomersall for a workshop inspired by our current Story Time exhibition.

Take a look at the secret ingredients of children's books illustrations and enjoy a guided workshop to help you create your own character.

Pamphlet Notebook & Collaging w/ Concrete Nature

Part of  Sunny Bank Mills Print Festival 2025

During this two hour workshop you will create a one-of-a-kind recycled pamphlet notebook and explore collage using off-prints and colourful paper stocks!

You will learn the 3-hole pamphlet stitch to bind your notebook, a technique which can be used as a basis for artist’s bookmaking and zine-making.

All materials will be provided, no prior skills or experience necessary.

Suitable for ages 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

In this workshop, we will learn how to turn everyday sheets of paper into different kinds of folded books, and then fill the pages with collage, drawings, and stories.

Zines can really be about anything, from real diaries or imaginary tales to funny jokes or secret obsessions. Turn your drawings and ideas into zines and share them with the world.
