Print Club

Print Club is an informal course which provides access to the facilities at Leeds Print Workshop, along with technician support to explore your own ideas and projects, get to grips with the equipment and build your confidence to work independently in the print workshop.

Print Club will run over 5 evening sessions on Thursdays 19th June – 17h July, 6:00-8:30pm.

Who is Print Club for?

Collograph Taster Session

This workshop will introduce you to a version of collograph which uses relief inking methods to produce prints using our fantastic range of etching presses and equipment in the print workshop.

You’ll use oil based inks, stencils, collage and textures to create an exciting series of prints. This is a great introduction to the collograph technique.

Woodcut Relief Printing

Spend a day learning how to use specialist woodcutting tools to carve your own design into high-quality plywood to print from. You’ll learn how to use oil based inks and use Leeds Print Workshop’s traditional relief printing presses, as well as other printing methods including hand burnishing. This is a great introduction to woodcut techniques.

Monoprint Taster Session

Monoprinting uses a plate and stencil process and multiple layers of oil-based ink to make unique prints.

This process is a great first introduction into printmaking – you’ll learn about inks and paper, and use our fantastic range of etching presses and equipment in the workshop.

Starting out with simple shapes and block colours you can build up monoprints with complex designs, textures and shades to create a series of prints onto paper.
