Community Sound Bath

Join us for a gentle evening of relaxation and connection through sound: A 1 hour journey of Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, soft ambient tones, and soothing visuals. Afterwards, we’ll share wholesome chats and chill vibes over some nourishing homemade herbal tea. 

Kids Breaking Class

What is the class?

In these sessions, Kieron is going to teach you the 4 fundamentals of Breaking: Top Rock, Footwork, Power and Freezes. As you build an understanding of the foundations, you will start to play with these movements, learn about HipHop culture and get involved within our local community at jams, events and further opportunities.

We run weekly classes on Wednesday’s 5pm-6pm at Open Source Arts, Leeds. These sessions are for ages 7+ and are term time only at the cost of £8 per person.

Celebrate Hip Hop History at Leeds City Museum with this event including live music, Q&As, workshops and loads more!

Join us at Leeds City Museum for a family fun day celebrating of Hip Hop history! With live music, Q&A, deejays, Emcees, Beatboxin’ B boys B Girls, graffiti art, production, and workshops.

Sew-Able

Do you want to learn to sew? Or do you want to pick up the needle again after not sewing for a while? Or do you just want to improve your stitching? 

Well this six-week sewing course is for you. You will learn how to thread a sewing machine, sew the basics and meet like minded people. 

Spirograph Family Fun Day

Add your work to our giant spirograph this half term.

Join us in the main hall of the museum to add your own artistic flair to a giant spirograph artwork. Feel nostalgic about this quirky, engineered game, and introduce the kids to it too!

Meet artist Lesley Halliwell, and find out about her dazzling, spiralling artworks. Make a spirograph keepsake to take home too.

Super Spirographs

Get into a spin with our super spirograph school holiday activities!

We're having a nostalgic week with activities inspired by the Spirograph, which was invented right here in Leeds by engineer Denys Fisher!

There'll be a trail around the museum which will give you a chance to explore the galleries whilst looking out for items on your trail.

Arty Facts

A unique opportunity to look closely at objects from the Natural History collection, whilst trying out fun, experimental drawing techniques.

Still life drawings depict objects that are ‘still’ and don’t move. Still life artwork often shows inanimate objects from the natural or man-made world, such as fruit, flowers, and vessels like baskets or bowls. This session will feature an object from our Natural History collection, not usually on display.
