Jazz Improvisation Workshop

Join Leeds Jazz Jazz Festival for an engaging jazz improvisation workshop designed for all ages and experience levels! 

This free workshop is led by experienced jazz educator (David Evans), and introduces the fundamentals of improvisation, rhythm, and musical interaction in a fun, inclusive environment. 

Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, you'll find inspiration, guidance, and a supportive community to jam with. No experience? No problem. Just bring your curiosity, your energy, and get ready to groove!

Neurodiverse Creative Network (for female and non-binary creatives)

We are very excited to be hosting the new FANN Network!

This is their first free, in-person event, for northern female and non-binary artists and creatives of all kinds who identify as neurodivergent.

This will be a collaborative, accessible event in a creative space. No pressure, no judgement, just a chance to meet one another, share some common struggles, discuss how to access and create support, and celebrate the individuality and imagination of neurodivergent creative people!

FANN is created by Redbobble arts in collaboration with Left Bank.

Bird Drawing and Construction with Michael Rios

Join Michael in this wonderful 3 hour workshop. You will be guided in how to draw a bird using basic shapes and address superficial anatomical structure. Bird talons, wings, and head will be discussed.

These skills are also fundamental in the process of creature design, game art, and character design. In the session you will primarily be using pencil and pen, yet if you would like to bring a digital tablet to work on, your more than welcome to do so!

Please note that tablets will not be provided to use in this session.

Burlesque Workshop with Hattie Go Lucky

Embrace your inner Burlesque star in this fabulous workshop!

Hattie will be teaching you the art of the striptease, he will show you how to incorporate comedy in to your performance and you'll get to practice using a seductive veil fan.

You can wear your comfy clothes for the session or wear your best burlesque glam, we ask that you bring a robe with you and we'll provide the feather boas.

Hattie will definitely put a spell on you!

Please note - this workshop is suitable for beginners but they must be 18+

Dance Workshops for Visually Impaired Adults from Unbound Dance Theatre

Dancing can be a great way to express yourself and connect with others. However, for those who are blind or visually impaired, participating in a dance workshop may seem like a daunting task. Fortunately, at Unbound Dance Theatre we have developed dance workshops specifically tailored for those with visual impairments and best of all they are free to attend in Leeds! 

Exploring Mark Making and Perspective in Drawing with Paul Digby

The Exploring Mark Making and Perspective in Drawing is a one-day workshop designed for both beginners and more advanced participant.

The workshop aims to enhance understanding of various mark-making techniques while developing skills in two-point and three-point perspective drawing. The day will begin with an introduction and a discussion of individual goals, followed by hands-on practice in mark-making techniques.

Decorate your own Fairy Door!

Visit our beautiful crystal shop inside the Corn Exchange to find all of our lovely fairy doors! This May Half Term, you can decorate your very own fairy door to take home with you. We will provide art supplies and the doors - you just need to bring your creative magic!

All children must have an adult supervising them at all times but we will be there to support with paints, glitter and glue.
