The Sick Man of Europe

Emerging from London’s underground music scene, The Sick Man Of Europe is distinctly monochrome in its outlook. Each note counts in this climate – economical but played with absolute precision and conviction. Propelled forward by machines and seeking solace in repetition. There are echoes of the post-punk and European art rock pioneers at the cusp of the 80s, but re-tooled for the present. The same fears. Looking for answers or something to believe in, but finding more questions in an age of absolutes.

Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

‘Marching On Together’ is a momentous anthem for Leeds United fans. It was originally written under the title ‘Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!’ by Les Reed and Barry Mason, who also wrote ‘The Last Waltz’ for Engelbert Humperdinck and ‘Delilah’ for Tom Jones (incidentally an unofficial anthem for Stoke City).

It first became a hit on the terraces when it was sung by the 1972 Leeds United team and supporters on the B-side of ‘Leeds United’, a single released to coincide with the team reaching the FA Cup Final.
