SongShare with The Swan Song Project - Dying Matters Week Special

The Swan Song Project is a Leeds based charity that helps terminally Ill and bereaved people to write and record original songs.

Since 2017 the charity has helped over 150 families to write their Swan Songs. They now have a team of songwriters and offer their unique service across the country. They believe in Celebrating Lives, Making Memories and Leaving Legacies.

A Million Dreams

Yet another mesmerising explosive theatrical experience, brought to life by a stage school that sets itself apart with its unique, heartfelt and remarkably professional approach.

The young performers take the stage, delivering a show that captivates the heart and stirs the soul. Their passion, born from overcoming adversity fuels a breathtaking display of dreams made into reality. As they rise above their struggles, they remind us all that with a clear vision and unyielding determination, anything is possible.

The Music of: Elvin Jones

An all star line up from the Leeds jazz scene pays tribute to the legendary drummer Elvin Jones.

Best known as a member of the era-defining John Coltrane Quartet, Elvin Jones also recorded with such jazz icons as Grant Green, Wayne Shorter, Larry Young and Joe Henderson.

This Leeds Jazz Festival show will focus on the numerous albums Jones made as a leader, including Coalition, Mr Jones, The Ultimate and the legendary Live At The Lighthouse.

Nick Shoulders

Wielding an ethereal croon and masterful whistle crafted from a lifetime chasing lizards through the Ozark hills, Nick Shoulders is a living link to the vocal roots of country music...with an undeniable weird streak. Combining his family's deep ties to regional traditional singing with years of playing to crowded street corners (and empty bars), Nick has created a hybridized form of raucously clever country music; born of forgotten rocky hollers and bred to confront the tensions of the 21st century South.

Stereo MC's

Stereo Mc’s are probably best known for their international Top 20 hit single ‘Connected’, which was released in 1992 and taken from the ‘Connected’ album of the same year. The album reached #2 in the UK Album Chart and also contained the aforementioned hits ‘Step It Up’, ‘Creation’, and ‘Ground Level’, and led to the group winning two Brit Awards for Best Group and Best Album in 1994.

Being childhood friends and neighbours, Rob and Nick formed Stereo MC’s in the mid-eighties, with the pair inspired to make music by their combined love of early hip-hop, funk and electronic music.
