The Bridge: A Cuban Guitar Journey

The Bridge is Cuba’s most internationally acclaimed guitar duo. With their musical empathy, Eduardo Martín and Ahmed Dickinson transform their concerts into a vehicle that connects, incorporates and juxtaposes their different generations; and the spiritual journey that drives their thrilling yet soothing performances.

Like many other Cubans or Caribbean, they enjoy a natural sense of rhythm. The guitar is their favoured instrument, which idiomatically conveys all the melodic and rhythmic intricacies of South America's cultural diversity.

Everything and All of Us: At the Piano with Simeon Walker & Laura Cole

Experience 'Everything and All of Us' anew with an evening of live piano performances.

Acclaimed Leeds-based pianists and composers, Simeon Walker and Laura Cole, will each perform brand-new music live in the gallery space. They have been specially commissioned to respond to our current exhibition, 'Mary Griffiths: Everything and All of Us'.

The exhibition as a whole foregrounds Griffiths' collaborative approach. This includes works created with poets, biophysicists, astronomers, engineers - and musicians.

Blossoming

Inspired by the depictions of mythological, ancient stories and Indic folklore, Blossoming is a seamless blend of Indian classical instrumentation, Western orchestration, and neoclassical textures created by Yorkshire santoor maestro Eeshar Singh.

The performance is accompanied by live visuals to take the audience on a journey through music and storytelling. Joining Eeshar Singh are Jeevan Singh (percussion, tabla, nagara) and Sirrjan Singh (esraj, tar-shehnai and live visuals).
