Keep Crafting

Arty Facts

A unique opportunity to look closely at objects from the Natural History collection, whilst trying out fun, experimental drawing techniques.

Still life drawings depict objects that are ‘still’ and don’t move. Still life artwork often shows inanimate objects from the natural or man-made world, such as fruit, flowers, and vessels like baskets or bowls. This session will feature an object from our Natural History collection, not usually on display.

Below is a sneak peek at some of our upcoming themes!

Sunday 24 August - Yellow Animals

Participants will explore techniques to turn discarded garments into new, usable materials, while developing ideas for sustainable design.

Through hands-on making and shared dialogue, the session supports skill-building and creative approaches to textile reuse.

Join Harriet Wadsworth, Senior Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University's School of Arts, and her students in this hands on workshop.
