Queer Open Mic with Out + Loud

Out + Loud are back at the Bookish Type for another queer open mic!

As the winter evenings draw in, we’re thinking about what keeps us hopeful and connected. Come along and share something; personal, political, rage or joy, new words or old favourites to chase away wintery disillusionment.

To sign up to perform simply send us a message or email, there will also be a few spaces to sign up on the night if inspiration strikes. So whether you’re a poet, comedian, musician, or something else entirely, we’d love to have you perform with us!

Fado Bicha

In their UK premiere, the unashamedly Queer, anti-racist and anti-fascist musical duo Fado Bicha (Lila Fadista and João Caçador) will perform their unique blend: traditional Portuguese Fado singing, feisty electric guitar and daring political messages.

Free entry, booking required.

Starlight Singing/Starbright Sketches

This cracker of a Christmas evening will take place in the beautiful surroundings of St Andrews Church, Roundhay.

With sparkling music from the award-winning chorus The White Rosettes, and ladies quartet The Rooftop Social Club, and sketches from local drama group RoCo, it will be a great night's entertainment.

Everyone is guaranteed a warm welcome, and a light cheese and wine supper is included in the ticket price.
