Nothing Lasts Forever: Peter Mitchell

Leeds Art Gallery is thrilled to present a major retrospective of British documentary photographer Peter Mitchell.

Known for documenting Leeds throughout his career, the exhibition will explore and reflect upon key bodies of work from Mitchell’s remarkable career and feature works previously unseen by the public. Peter Mitchell has a long-rooted connection with Leeds and ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ marks nearly half a century since Mitchell’s first exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery in 1975.

Harewood Biennial 2024: Create/Elevate

Create/Elevate is the third Harewood Biennial, now established as the major craft Biennial of its kind outside London. Presented within Harewood House and across our gardens and landscapes, it showcases the work of international artists, designers and craft collectives, including new commissions. The exhibition explores the power of craft to surprise, inspire and bring people together and will be accompanied by a dynamic and accessible programme of learning and active public engagement.

Welcome to Fragile Microbiomes, an exhibition by internationally renowned British artist Anna Dumitriu, exploring our relationship to the complex ecosystem of microbes that live in us and around us. The exhibition includes sculptures and installations made using bacteria, DNA, altered vintage objects, 3D printing, textiles, video and digital technologies.

Win It! 2023 Art Prize at Aire Place Studios

Launching on Friday 1st September, Win It! features the works of 39 talented artists. This year Aire Place Studios has expanded its prize giving to include a solo exhibition at Coles Gallery for the first runner-up. 

Following the big reveal, voting commences for the 2023 People’s Choice Award and we need you to help us decide the deserving winner by telling us your favourite on our website, with the winner of an APS Associate Membership worth £45 announced at the closing of the show.
