Ageless Welcome & Big Communal Boogie

Join us for a warm Ageless welcome and introduction to the festival. Meet the guest artists and speakers and discover what to expect across the 2-day festival programme.

Introductions will be followed by a big communal boogie, led by the Ageless artists and Yorkshire Dance team. Get on the dance floor and throw some shapes to a special playlist of tracks, handpicked by guest artists. Think Desert Island Discs meets disco. The perfect way to start your festival!

About Ageless Festival

Letters to Leeds

Letters to Leeds is a project that was born out of a love for Leeds and a desire to further understand and celebrate its greatness.

We want to invite people to come together on a collective exploration of the city. Whether you’ve been here all along, moved here yesterday, or are just passing through – we want to capture Leeds through your experiences. In order to do so, we will be holding three free workshops at Hyde Park Book Club that will encourage sharing your stories through different creative activities.

Anna Dumitriu: Fragile Microbiomes

Welcome to Fragile Microbiomes, an exhibition by internationally renowned British artist Anna Dumitriu, exploring our relationship to the complex ecosystem of microbes that live in us and around us. The exhibition includes sculptures and installations made using bacteria, DNA, altered vintage objects, 3D printing, textiles, video and digital technologies.

Designing/Drawing for Textiles with Louise Goult

This workshop is perfect for those with some embroidery experience and would like to begin designing their own textile art. It's designed for those who are terrified of drawing or who don't know where to begin!

The day takes you through several different techniques, with absolutely no drawing skills necessary! You’ll learn how to create realistic and more abstract designs and consider how to turn them into pieces of artwork. Although no embroidery will take place during the workshop, you’ll leave with a range of designs ready to turn into artwork.

Jenny Éclair: Jokes Jokes Jokes Live!

In celebration of the release of her hilarious memoir of the same name, comedian, novelist, and professional show-off Jenny Éclair comes to venues nationwide with a brand-new autobiographical show.

She’ll reminisce about everything from drama school, (mostly drinking cider and eating sausage rolls), sleeping with men who looked like they lived under a carpet, punk poetry, anorexia, bedsit misery, waitressing and not really having a clue about anything, to being the first woman to win the Perrier Award, becoming a mother, author, grumpy old woman, podcaster and nana!

Larry Dean: Dodger

Larry’s been spending a lot of time with his granny lately. He wants to tell you about it.

Join the thrice Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated, two-time star of Live At The Apollo, for a hilarious new show about identity, heroes and the benefits of being a dafty.

As seen on Mock The Week, House Of Games, Fandan (Channel 4 Comedy Special) and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.
