Sardines showcases the works of 43 artists from the University of Leeds who have navigated their academic journey in busy shared studios and collaborative conditions.
Through a diverse array of mediums and expressions, the exhibition reveals the paths these artists are taking from their mutual experiences as students to the world beyond university.
Our photo socials are open to everyone and are absolutely free. This is a friendly event for anyone who wants to share their work or meet other people from the Leeds photography community. These socials are facilitated by Dan Wheeler from our sister lab, Make It Easy.

Hailed as one of the most prodigious guitarists of his generation and “highest category of improvising musicians" (New Yorker), Julian Lage has spent more than a decade searching through the myriad strains of American musical history via impeccable technique, free association and a spirit of infinite possibility. The California-born New York based musician boasts a prolific resume on his own accord in addition to collaborating with Gary Burton and John Zorn, as well as duo projects with Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge and Fred Hersch, among others.
