Though Hairspray is seen as John Waters most mainstream film.  It's still packed the wit, rebellion, heart and bizarreness you come to expect and love from Mr Waters.  It really is the perfect gateway to the Pope of Filth's work. 

Amal Joy presents 'A Journey Of Conscious Awakening', an exhibition of paintings exploring themes of spirituality, the natural world and sacred connection.

"Born in Kerala, India, I initially pursued a path in mechanical engineering, earning a degree in this field. I started doing art in my engineering years and this led me to the world of fine arts. Relocating to the United Kingdom, I developed my artistic skills by enrolling in BA Fine Art at Leeds Beckett University, where I delved into the nuances of artistic expression and conceptual exploration.

Sharing the vivid stories behind 20 key songs of the 90s – ‘Common People’ to ‘Girls and Boys’, ‘Connection’ to ‘Firestarter’; AND the bands that made them.

As part of the 2024 Farsley Literature Festival we are exited to bring you our annual Book Lovers Quiz Night, with Gary Wigglesworth. Gary is the author of The Book Lover’s Quiz Book and he will be hosting us at the Old Woollen for what is sure to be a fun night with great prizes to be won.

One of the most renowned photographers of the 20th century, Peter Mitchell is perhaps most well-known for his documentary photography of Leeds across the 1970s and 80s while working as a delivery truck driver.

In celebration of Mitchell’s exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery, Nothing Lasts Forever, this special evening talk will see the artist himself reflecting on his long-rooted connection with the city of Leeds. Mitchell will share stories from his remarkable photography career and how his most iconic works came to be. This event will be interpreted in BSL.
