Project Farsley Film Club presents Martha: A Picture Story
Come join us for a special screening of Martha: A Picture Story at Room 51 at FCC on Friday 15th November at 7:30pm.
Martha Cooper is one of the most adored and influential members of the street art world yet almost unknown outside of it, perhaps ‘the most iconic photographer you’ve never heard of ’! Her book Subway Art is the ‘bible’ of graffiti and is widely considered to be one of the most stolen books of all time.
Analogue Days: 94 - 04 Clubbing in a pre-digital age is an exhibition of club photography by James Lange entirely shot on film in the heady days before digital cameras, smartphones and social media changed the landscape forever.

For this week's Visiting Artist's Talk at the University of Leeds we welcome creative civic change practitioner, Katy Rubin.
Katy Rubin is a practitioner and designer of Legislative Theatre, an innovative, inclusive and joyful participatory democracy methodology. Legislative Theatre directly challenges injustices in governments and institutions, bringing residents and policymakers together into creative dialogue, and offering a rigorous testing platform for equitable, human-centred policy and practice.

Dr David McAlmont is a singer/songwriter, art historian and Studio Master at the Architectural Association’s Interprofessional Studio, a Spatial Design & Performance programme. He joined the team in 2009 as a performance consultant after two successful decades as a recording artiste.
For this week's Visiting Artist's Talk at the University of Leeds we welcome Dean Hughes.
Dean Hughes (born Salford, Greater Manchester, UK) studied at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London. Hughes works with a range of ordinary, familiar, objects such as paper, rolls of masking tape, and bus tickets. Through his work he makes small interventions, using banal materials, and dwells upon rituals of daily life.

Your tutor, Abbie Mooney, will guide you through the process of layering textures and marks to create unique printing plates that will then be inked up and rolled through our traditional roller press to create a range of original prints.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or those who have tried other printmaking processes before as Abbie will equip you with the skills to combine new and familiar techniques to make artwork that is personal to you.
Your tutor, Abbie Mooney, will guide you step-by-step through pamphlet stitch, concertina and Japanese stab binding, with plenty of time to devlop your skills and knowledge in a small group.
The workshop is perfect for beginners and you will leave the workshop with helpful guides to make your own books at home, as well as three of your very own handmade books. All materials and equipment included.
