A collection of unique, art cased pianos from the height of European piano making on display at Besbrode Pianos Leeds.
Around the turn of the twentieth century a period of prosperity inspired an interest in culture and the arts. As the only source of music in the home, the domestic importance of the piano was at its peak. At this time the wealthy commissioned bespoke, art cased pianos as visible status symbols to stand as centrepieces in a room. Technical innovation of the instrument had reached its maturity prompting a flourish in custom made, luxurious cases.

Dusty Springfield was undoubtedly the finest white soul singer of her era – for millions, she was the definitive pop diva. Her lifestyle was the stuff of legend and great drama. With her relentless quest for perfection and refusal to compromise, Dusty Springfield led a tortured life. Her stage persona – extravagant black mascara and backcombed hair – was at odds with the quiet, shy convent girl, Mary O’Brien, and her sexuality.
Leeds’ biggest independent Winter Market!
We've been running Leeds’ biggest independent Winter Market since 2017 at the royal armouries and this year we wanted to have a little break from running a huge market so we have selected 50 of our favourite stalls and popped them into a smaller version of our much loved market!
Shop cool and unique mid-century, vintage fashion, furniture and homewares. Plus cool crafts, industrial Salvage & collectables too! And don’t forget the Street Food stalls and DJs to bring the good vibes!
Imagine, a massive mid-century furniture market, with cool little bric-a-brac stalls thrown in the mix to make the perfect recipe for a proper lovely, super cool Indie Flea!! Then you can add in some plant stalls, and a good mix of vintage fashion (thanks to our sister company Judy's Vintage) and a smattering of the best designer makers from around Yorkshire.
