High Sobriety Daytime Rave

High Sobriety is for people of all identities that reject the need to fuel nights out with alcohol.

It is about happiness and wellness through connection with people and tunes.

It is about enjoying a proper session in safe surroundings.

Hosted by folks who care passionately about electronic music, movement and community, this day/evening rave is taking place at the Skate Sanctuary in Mabgate Mills.

Friday Night Skate Disco

Come and skate, have a chat, meet other skaters in the community and unwind! Our skate marshalls are here to ensure everyone has a great time and skate safely.

Skate hire (including protective pads) available - please ensure you purchase an Entry + Skate hire ticket for each person requiring skates.

Hire skates are recalled at 21:45 and session end is 21:50 to allow us to clear the venue by 22:00.

I have never roller skated before - is FNS for me?

Learn to Skate - Beginner Class

Suitable for complete beginners, returning skaters or those with limited experience.

Absolutely no previous roller skate experience is needed to attend this class.  We warmly welcome those who are starting their roller skate journey.

Numbers are limited to ensure we can keep an optimum student to Skate Coach ratio.

What size hire skates do I need?
We recommend you ask for your regular shoe size.  If you try skates on and they're not right for you, we are happy to swap them. Our skate hire is available in full sizes only, from UK 3 - UK 12.

Melanie Whitehead Smith: HERE MARKS THE SPOT

Made in collaboration with LGBTQ+ people in Leeds, HERE MARKS THE SPOT maps sites of queer joy across the city.

Projections of dancing figures pop up across Leeds, translating personal moments into public celebrations.

The short dance films were made in collaboration with dance artist Melanie Whitehead Smith and local people who shared their experiences of queer joy.

Mixing physical theatre, contemporary dance and improvisation, the films create traces of happy memories, played out again in the locations that inspired them.

Ellie Harrison / Polite Rebellion: Loose Ends

Artist Ellie Harrison invites you to make space for your chosen family tree in this gentle and participatory installation.

Formal family histories and genealogies might not show who really looks after us or who we care for most.

Loose Ends helps us see what our chosen families really look like.

Drop into Trinity shopping centre to work with Ellie to create your own chosen family tree. You can take it home with you, share it with others, or just have a look around and a chat about your chosen family.

LORE

LORE is a group exhibition featuring 14 artists exploring contemporary folklore through their practice.

Folklore is continually evolving and can be used as a tool to help us connect and make sense of personal and social landscapes that can be challenging to navigate. Folklore is created by people. It encompasses customs, tales, sayings, dances, material objects or any art forms preserved among a people, rooted in place and time, memorialising communities and celebrating the personal craft of the artist or artists.
