Stephen Bailey - LIVE!

It's ten years since Stephen Bailey did his first paid comedy spot - and it was right here in Leeds!

To celebrate, Stephen is putting on a show in the city that first took a chance on him with some of his greatest hits over the last decade and some new stuff to keep you on yours.

Since he started Stephen has appeared on everything from ‘Would I Lie To You?’, ‘Richard Osman's House of Games’, ‘Celebrity Weakest Link.’

He has appeared on and hosted ‘Live at the Apollo’ twice and currently stars in Channel 5's hit comedy drama ‘Madame Blanc’.

Finlay Christie: I Deserve This

Money, followers, religiously forbidden relationships. Does Finlay Christie deserve everything he gets?

At 19, he became the youngest-ever winner of the prestigious ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ competition. His online sketches and stand-up have been viewed over 300 million times and his debut Edinburgh show 'OK Zoomer' was nominated for NextUp’s Best Show award.

TV includes ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ and ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’.

“Outstanding… he will be taking the comedy world by storm, catch him now while you can” - One4Review.co.uk.

Them Bones

Towering above our heads, two illuminated skeletons roam around The Headrow. Inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead, they take a walk, embrace and even dance together.

Cumulative Entanglement

Cumulative Entanglement is an immersive and interactive sound and light sculpture by Yorkshire-based artist and musician Rian Treanor. Created after workshops with blind or partially blind users of Rotherham Sight and Sound, you are invited to physically explore the 3D geometric structure and make connections between touch, sound and light.

NocturnFox: The Silent Observer

A striking and unusual fox seems to prowl the city centre. Adorned with mesmerising floral mandalas, these patterns represent life cycles in nature.

Whilst here, why not pop into Leeds Cathedral to admire the arts and crafts design, or light a candle in its peaceful interior.

Out of the Aire

Projected at monumental scale onto Leeds Civic Hall, Out of the Aire returns from its 2017 presentation at Light Night Leeds with updated content. It celebrates Leeds as a centre of innovation, engineering, sports and the arts.

Drawing inspiration from the people who have made our city famous around the world, it includes testing rocket powered torpedoes in Waterloo Lake, the world’s first motion picture and the many sporting achievements. The soundtrack features Leeds singers and bands.

Parallels

Thousands of multi-coloured laser beams pulse and flicker overhead to a mesmerising electronic soundscape. Parallels is an unmissable immersive installation inspired by dynamic movement and tones from the natural environment. Moving imagery is stretched out into endless abstractions, alternating between moments of serenity to eruptions of chaos.

David Oluwale Bridge

This bridge is named in honour of David Oluwale, who travelled to the UK from Nigeria and was targeted by police due to his mental health, homelessness and race.

Returning from Light Night Leeds 2023, the homeless charity Simon on the Streets have programmed the lights to reflect on the continuing plight of those suffering from and at risk of homelessness across Leeds and Bradford.

With thanks to the David Oluwale Memorial Association, Leeds City Council and Architainment Lighting.
