The Shadow Quartet w / special guest Simon Beddoe

For their first  LJF '24 session, Jazz Club have camped up in one of their absolute favourite Leeds hangs, the legendary Chemic. A community pub, which favours a warm welcome, a good pint and a shedload of music

Jazz Club want to bring something pretty special for their back room, and thought of their old friends The Shadow Quartet, an outfit truly worthy of this hallowed ground.

Expect to hear spiritual jazz from the sixties and seventies drawing on influences from the likes of Joe Henderson, Alice Coltrane, Chico Hamilton and the sounds of the Impulse record label.

Hyde Park Jazz Club present Paper Daisies + an Open Jam

Hyde Park Jazz Club return for their weekly Thursday night jazz gig and open jam.

For the live set we have Paper Daises - who aim to incorporate elements of recent contemporary jazz into their music to create a fluid, expressive sound. With each instrument having their own defined space in the group, there's a heavy emphasis on having a conversational nature to the performances.
