MUSIC FROM THE FLOOR is the free-jazz project of Louis Berthoud, alongside Tom O’Brien (piano) and Elliot Roffe (double bass).

The group takes influence from jazz greats like Thelonious Monk & Ornette Coleman; while also borrowing a great deal from the worlds of free improvisation and experimental music in general, producing a music that is open, spontaneous & deeply rhythmic.  

The group’s original music blends extended improvisational passages with composed material in a fluid and exciting way; and a similar treatment is offered to their playing of standards.

Tonight at Heart, Music from the Floor will play one set of originals; and one set of jazz standards.”
