Join Leeds Civic Trust for a behind-the-scenes tour of Morley Town Hall. Supported by Leeds City Council, NPS and Page\Park, the tour will take you through the magnificent heritage features of this historic building ahead of its planned multi-million pound refurbishment, starting at the end of 2025.
Morley Town Hall was opened in 1895 by Herbert Henry Asquith, who later became Prime Minister of the UK.
In 2022, NPS began an extensive programme of restoration works on the building, alongside Page\Park architects, working as Interiors and Heritage advisors.
On this guided tour, we’ll explore: the beautiful Alexandra Hall, which is being returned to its former glory; the historic courthouses, featuring original timber panelling; and the areas being refurbished to meet the needs of a modern performance venue while respecting the building’s heritage.
These tours will be guided by representatives from Leeds City Council, NPS Group and Page\Park architects:
Christopher Gosling – Leeds City Council
An NPS Group representative
David Pogson – Page\Park Architects
No PPE is required for this tour. Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear.
30 tickets are available for this event. The group will be split into two groups of 15, who will take separate, simultaneous tours of the building. We will make every effort to keep people who have booked together in the same group.
