We are 53 final year fine art students graduating from the University of Leeds this summer. This is our degree show.
Over the past year, we have stripped things back and dug deep.
Make No Bones is a refusal to soften or obscure. We want to surface our truths, to show the foundation of who we are as artists. Our exhibition is both an excavation of three to four years of study and our new construction.
Bones are both the basis and remains of who we are – the framework that holds us up and what we leave behind. Like fossils-to-be, our work has been pressed by the weight of expectations, desires and the world at large.
We have worked with and against the systems we are inheriting, the ideas about life and art that have been put to us, and the future we wish to contribute to.
We want to come into view, just for a short time, and leave something behind that is worth remembering.
Our work stands bare, unearthed and unashamed.
We Make No Bones about what we have created.

Make No Bones launches with a Private View on Thursday 5 June, 6 to 9pm. All welcome!
