A half-striped zebra that is rejected by his superstitious, all-striped herd goes on a daring quest in this bright and lively South African animated adventure comedy, which has an important message about learning to accept yourself. After the other zebras blame the strange-looking foal for the lack of rain and spreading drought, he ventures beyond his home, following a map to what may be a water source. Along the way he encounters a diverse range of animals, from a ferocious leopard to a free-spirited wildebeest and an insecure ostrich, learning that difference can be a strength.

This film has been programmed as part of Leeds International African Arts Festival, and is supported by its creators, Trigger Fish Animation Studio in Cape Town.

Join us from 10.30am before our Saturday screening for a self-led, drop in activity.

Our Sunday morning Hyde & Seek screenings at 11:00 in Screen Two are Autism friendly. These relaxed screenings are intended to provide a safe environment for neurodiverse audiences and anyone who finds standard screenings challenging. They feature prompt start times, raised lighting, reduced volume and a relaxed attitude to noise/moving around. To give audiences extra space, we reduce the capacity at these screenings, so pre-booking is advised as they often sell out.
