
Instituto Cervantes Leeds is delighted to announce a unique literary event, "An Encounter with Journeying Poetry" featuring acclaimed Spanish poet and translator, Verónica Aranda.
Born in Madrid in 1982, Verónica Aranda is one of the most distinguished voices in contemporary Spanish poetry. She is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Antonio Oliver Belmás, Miguel Hernández, Ciudad de Salamanca, Leonor, Ciudad de Pamplona, Luis Feria, and the Second Adonáis Prize. The author of fifteen poetry collections - such as Tatuaje, Épica de raíles, Cobalto oscuro, and Humo de té - Aranda’s work is marked by a profound sense of journeying and contemplation. Her poetry has been translated into English and featured in international anthologies, further establishing her global literary presence
During the event, Aranda will share insights into her creative process, poetic explorations, and her vision of the world through language. The conversation will be guided by Professor Antonio Martínez Arboleda from the University of Leeds. The event will be conducted in both English and Spanish, with free admission until capacity is reached.
