Join us for a captivating concert that celebrates the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of Latin America through classical music.
"Echoes of Latin America" features soprano Valentina Diaz and pianist Barney Tabor from the duo Nostalgias, along with the talented flautist Carmen Troncoso. This vibrant program blends art music with Indigenous languages and traditions from across the continent.
Travel through the highlands of Argentina, the forests of Chile, and the Andean landscapes of Bolivia and Peru. Experience the poetic legacy of the Aztecs in Mexico and the tender lullabies of Venezuela. The program showcases works by composers such as Atilio Lasala, Eduardo Caba, Teodoro Valcárcel, Carlos Isamitt, Salvador Moreno, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Maria Grever, and others, as well as the premieres of two contemporary pieces by Colombian composer Yessenia Lozano and Chilean composer Carlos Zamora.
Performed in original Indigenous languages—including Quechua, Náhuatl, Mapuzungun, and Muysccubun—this concert offers a rare and moving tribute to the ancestral voices of Latin America, voices that continue to resonate with strength, memory, and resilience.
"Echoes of Latin America" is a tribute to cultural memory, resistance, and innovation. It celebrates voices that are often unheard and invites you to embark on a transformative journey through the power of music born from the convergence of many worlds.
