The Exploring Mark Making and Perspective in Drawing is a one-day workshop designed for both beginners and more advanced participant.
The workshop aims to enhance understanding of various mark-making techniques while developing skills in two-point and three-point perspective drawing. The day will begin with an introduction and a discussion of individual goals, followed by hands-on practice in mark-making techniques.
You will learn basic concepts of two-point perspective, with guided exercises to create simple geometric shapes, before breaking for lunch. Afterward, the course will delve into three-point perspective, allowing you to construct drawings of taller structures, and transition into exploring charcoal as a medium for drawing.
In the afternoon, participants will engage in practical exercises with charcoal to create tonal drawings, focusing on depth and blending techniques. Finally, you will have the opportunity to develop a finished artwork that combines the skills acquired throughout the day, with individualised feedback and guidance from the instructor. The workshop will conclude with a group critique of the finished pieces, enabling participants to reflect on their work and discuss ways to continue developing their drawing skills in the future.
