Taking place from 12:00 to 19:00 – followed by a screening of Blue Velvet at 20:20 – throughout the day we'll cover:
Who is David Lynch? Learn more about the man, his upbringing, his tastes, his personality and interests.
Lynchian cinema: How do we define a typical David Lynch film? A breakdown of the tropes of Lynch and where we find them elsewhere in mainstream media.
The way Lynch changed television... Twin Peaks and the dawn of auteur-driven / mystery box TV.
Lynch as an all-round artist and personality: The multimedia world of Lynch, from his music videos, to his YouTube weather reports, to his short films.
Bringing all these elements together and showing how all of Lynch, from his personality to his interests and tastes play into filmmaking.
