Here are some frequently asked questions and tips about adding an event to Leeds Inspired.

Why isn't my event listing published yet?

If you selected 'Send to Publish' we will review and publish your event within the next 48 hours, but it is usually much sooner than that.

If you selected 'Save as Draft' we will leave your event listing in draft because you have indicated by saving it in draft that you are still working on it in draft.

If your event image features text or logos - like poster/flyer artwork - we will not publish your event until you change it to one without text or logos in line with our guidance.

What's the best type of image to use on my event listing?

We recommend a minimum width of 1200px and portrait or square dimensions.

Please Note: We will come back to you to make changes if your event image is not working, e.g it features text or logos or is very small and has pixilated. We recommend copyright free image sites such as Unsplash.com if you are struggling to find a suitable image.

Why are the changes I made to my event listing not showing up yet?

When you edit a published event listing it goes into a moderated state and your changes do not show up until we have republished the new version of your listing, this happens fairly quickly. If your changes are urgent you can contact us at hello@leedsinspired.co.uk to alert us.

How can I tell if my listing has already been added?

Just use our home page search to check by keyword. You can see if something already features - useful when a number of people are involved in promoting your events or have access to the same account. Also, you can use your account dashboard search option to see what has already been added using your account, this is useful when you are adding a lot of events for a festival or a long range of programmed events.

How do I cancel or delete my event listing?

Only we have those powers, so please contact us on hello@leedsinspired.co.uk and we will unpublish it asap.

Which is the best way to contact the Leeds Inspired team?

Contact us on hello@leedsinspired.co.uk we monitor that account regularly.

Some other notes...

TIMINGS on event listings are in the 24 hour clock e.g. 11:00 or 22:30 some old versions of Safari browser might allow you to go freehand and this can cause an issue.

You can use multiple DATES and then select daily or weekly or custom to allow for different opening hours on long running events, this is all at Stage 2 on the event builder form.

Set up a PROFILE in advance of creating an event listing and your organisation's social media links and website will auto fill at Stage 5 on the event builder form. You can have numerous profiles within your account so you can apply different profiles to events that you add, useful if you are creating listings for different organisations or groups.

We already have a huge database of PLACES/VENUES in Leeds, at Stage 3 please start to type the name of your venue and wait for the data to load (do not cut and paste into the field here). Please watch your spelling to ensure your venue can be returned from our database, e.g. Millennium Square, so you don't create a new venue listing for an existing venue but with new spelling. Allow for or apply 'The' too with some names, e.g. The Tetley, or just give the database some time to load results rather than assuming it is not there, particularly on major venues such as Leeds Town Hall, Leeds Market, Corn Exchange, Temple Newsam, Leeds Playhouse and so on.

Be sure to attach an EMAIL ADDRESS to your account that you have access to when creating your log in, we will contact you at that email address from time to time if there is an issue with your event listing, and your password reset will be sent there too.

Automated emails from Leeds Inspired can go into your junkmail folder so please look out for hello@leedsinspired.co.uk.

We only publish events happening in the Leeds Metropolitan area.
