Travels in Tibet

Tibet has a unique culture and a strikingly distinctive location on a high and massive plateau in the Himalayas.

It was seized by China in the 1950s and has since suffered from repression. But it does what it can to preserve its distinctiveness, as Professor Joyce Hill saw when she visited it a few years ago.

Her talk will set Tibet in its geographical and historical context and give us a flavour of what Tibet is like today.

In this panel talk Gillian Dyson is joined by Funmi Adewole Elliott and Susan Kempster as they ponder the queering of the body through the ageing process and ask how we redefine our femininity as expectations of women shift in age.

The Desire Cycle is a trilogy of sculptural performances with dancers from different age groups. My body’s no.1
