Me & My Friends + Afrodesia

Top London world jazz/folk roots/global beats band Me and My Friends are back in the city where it all began a decade and a half ago, Leeds, on Wednesday 9th April as part of their spring 2025 UK tour. They play Brudenell Social Club (once again linking up with the city's leading world music promoter DJ Lubi aka Lubi Jovanovic), for their first show at the venue since spring 2023.

The Wildhearts

The Wildhearts are an English rock band, formed in 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band's sound is a mixture of hard rock and melodic pop music, often described in the music press as combining influences as diverse as the Beatles and 1980s-era Metallica.

The Anchoress

Welsh producer and multi-instrumentalist The Anchoress (aka Catherine Anne Davies)  returns with new music in 2025. Her two acclaimed studio albums have amassed an army of celebrity fans including The Cure’s Robert Smith, Caitlin Moran, and Elton John.

Fresh from a run of summer UK dates appearing with Manic Street Preachers, these new live dates will see her preview new music from her forthcoming new studio album (details to be announced) with a full live band.

Herbie Hopkins is a songwriter from Leeds.

Renowned improviser and drummer, Mark Sanders, described his work as ‘adventurous and daring’.

His new album, ‘Alex’, is about anatomy, nocturnal landscapes, and personal catharsis.Recorded by Chris Sharkey (engineer), accompanied by Matthew Bourne (piano) and Harry Souter (guitar, percussion); ‘Alex’ combines vivid songwriting, haunting improvisation, and raw found-sound-samples.

Funding has been secured from the Leeds City Council Cultural Investment Programme to deliver our new project, ‘The Wheel of the Year’ to provide a programme of community Irish Arts participatory and performance workshops across Leeds.
