William Jack is an Australian multi-style cellist and songwriter, based in London. He is best known for incorporating his jazz guitar background into an unconventional style of cello playing, with a passion for breaking boundaries between genres and cultures. School of Music at the University of Leeds and Leeds Conservatoire: Ensemble Performance: Orchestra

This year's orchestral project continues the recent collaborations between the School of Music at the University of Leeds and the Leeds Conservatoire.

The programme, conducted by Ben Crick, begins with a rare performance of Lili Boulanger's 'D'un matin de printemps' followed by an equally rare performance of Marie Jaëll's cello concerto with guest soloist Valerie Welbanks. We conclude with a performance of Schubert's 8th symphony, 'The unfinished'.

The score of the Cello Concerto by Marie Jaëll is published by Éditions Sébastien Troester, Paris
