Under the Cover of Night tells a story from sunset to early morning, exploring the emotions and tribulations that can happen under the cover of darkness, before the day begins anew.
Inspired by the common themes and narratives that occur in music for the stage, this programme spins its own tale through anticipation, celebration, conflict, and finally death, before the sun rises again.

On Sunday 29th June 2025, Wetherby will celebrate the annual Drovers’ Day to remember the times when, for over 200 years, 1000s of cattle were walked from gathering points in Scotland to markets in the south of England via Wetherby with its bridge and ford over the River Wharfe.
At times music would accompany the animals on their long trek and they seemed to be soothed and calmed by it.
No cattle will be present on our day (health & safety prevents) so no muck!....... but plenty of brass!!

Equally at home on the concert and opera stages, Carolyn Sampson has enjoyed notable successes in the UK as well as throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
The highly anticipated Celebration Concert is set to return to the Leeds First Direct Arena this year, promising an unforgettable evening of music and community spirit. Funded by ArtForms, the local authority’s music and arts service, the event will feature an astonishing 800 young performers from across the city, representing over 80 schools.
This will be our 5th joint concert!
It's the flute ensemble's 10th birthday this year, so expect some bangers and celebrations.
First half of the concert will feature the flute choir and the second half will be filled by Daniel Barker-Bey and his Sax friends.

"We are the Leeds Conservatoire Pit Band Society. Directed by Poppy Hughes and Lottie Hood, this 24 piece Pit Band plays through various numbers from a range of classic Musical Theatre Shows! We perform a range of Overtures, Instrumentals and Vocal numbers from shows such as Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, Crazy For You, Sister Act, Legally Blonde, Matilda- Plus many more!"
