Kids Breaking Class

What is the class?

In these sessions, Kieron is going to teach you the 4 fundamentals of Breaking: Top Rock, Footwork, Power and Freezes. As you build an understanding of the foundations, you will start to play with these movements, learn about HipHop culture and get involved within our local community at jams, events and further opportunities.

We run weekly classes on Wednesday’s 5pm-6pm at Open Source Arts, Leeds. These sessions are for ages 7+ and are term time only at the cost of £8 per person.

Soul Grove – Fusion Dance Class for Mental Wellness is designed for women aged 14+ to explore movement as a tool for self-expression, confidence, and inner balance.

We blend semi-classical, Bollywood, yoga-inspired flows, and fusion-style choreographies. This unique mix nurtures body awareness, creativity, and emotional well-being. Guided by Kriti Telang and Shivani Jatar, our Thursday evening sessions at Yorkshire Dance are a celebration of movement, community, and joy.

Company of People Roadshow

Come along to this free community roadshow to find out more about Company of People, a performance company of all ages based in Chapeltown and Harehills.

This interactive session will include a performance and the chance to get moving and chat to existing members. For those eager to join there will be an opportunity to sign up to take part in the next Company of People performance. For those wanting to dip a toe in you can find out more about our free weekly sessions starting in Autumn 2025 or sign up to attend future performances.

Scottish Dance Classes

There are two classes in Leeds suitable for beginners - Monday afternoon and Wednesday evening.

The Monday afternoon is an existing low impact class., which has been running for several years and is a good mix of beginners and dancers with some experience.

The Wednesday evening class has live music and is for dancers who prefer to attend outside ‘9 to 5’ working hours. It provides a structured introduction to Scottish Country Dancing including steps and formations to covers a range of dances which appears in many social situations. e.g. ceilidhs and weddings.

Family Ceilidh

A fun family ceilidh for all ages and abilities, with beginner-friendly dances and live music.

Northern Roll: Adult Roller Disco

Experience the ultimate throwback as Northern Roll brings its massive adult roller disco to New Dock Hall. Join us for a night of incredible music, amazing DJs, and rolling on a butter-smooth floor. Get ready to groove to the beats of DJ Onyx, DJ Dom Diego, and DJ StayFun (NL), who will be on the decks all night long.

The event runs from 6pm to 10:30pm at New Dock Hall in Leeds. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair with skate hire available on site.

Northern Roll: Family Roller Disco

Get ready to roll! The Northern Roll Family Disco is coming to New Dock Hall.

Join us for an afternoon of family fun from 3.30pm to 5pm. Whether you're a seasoned skater or just starting, this is a perfect opportunity to hit the floor together. In addition to a fantastic roller disco soundtrack, you'll find a variety of stalls, a fun photo booth, and even some free disco dancing workshops to get everyone moving.

Pop-Up Culture Leeds

After a summer of dance, music, and community connection, South Asian Arts-uk (SAA-uk) invites you to the grand finale of Pop-Up Culture Leeds at Leeds Playhouse on Saturday, 16th August. This vibrant event closes South Asian Heritage Month and celebrates the citywide Pop-Up Culture Sharing Days project, supported by Leeds City Council.
