Scour Cinema presents: What Happened Was... (1994)

A black comedy by Tom Noonan that explores the personal psychic landscape of two lonely New Yorkers. Jackie and Michael are coworkers at a large law firm, who decide to meet at Jackie's for dinner one night. As this 'first date' plays out, the audience is guided through a mental minefield of disappointment, desolation, and desperation. Their conversation, with its awkward 'small talk', slowly reveals their unhappy lives....

A masterful work that uses unflinching cringe humour to gradually forge a richly compassionate portrayal of two wayward souls.

Scour Cinema presents: Mermaid Legend

The first Scour Cinema screening of 2025 is this spectacular supernatural revenge fantasy by Toshiharu Ikeda (Evil Dead Trap).

Now restored and made available thanks to the efforts of @thirdwindowfilms the esteem it has is sure to rise.
