Join us to be creative, messy and experimental with paint. This monthly event is all about having fun and playing with paint. Let go of your inhibitions and splash colour on our walls. No creative ability is required, this is all about the process and enjoying the freedom of getting messy.

Start-up and Grow: Two day Creatives Workshop

Recently had a go at crafting your own products and thinking you'd be able to turn them into a side hustle or business venture?

Join this workshop to get the skills you'll need to take your craft business to the next step.

In this two-day workshop we'll be joined by expert speakers who'll be going through some of the 'need to knows' as a maker, creator or crafter. From pricing your products to taking photographs and boosting your digital presence.

Over the two-days we'll have core talks and breakout rooms covering:

Day one – Friday 10th January

Tongueomania: Languages, Animals and Surrealist Anatomies

Explore the relationship between surrealist techniques and human and animal bodies in this free workshop.

Join visual poets Daniela Nicolaescu and Blaise Sales to create poetic collages about tongues (furry and otherwise), language and surrealist transformations, inspired by our current exhibition The Traumatic Surreal.

This workshop has been tailored for individuals aged 12 to 20 in mind, but all are welcome.

Indian Bollywood / Contemporary Dance

Evening classes at Yorkshire Dance.

This course is designed to develop your skills, no matter your current level. It promises to infuse your soul with colour and spice, engaging and inspiring you to move and dance with passion. From the vibrant hues of Indian classical dance to the dynamic energy of Bollywood and contemporary elements, this journey will educate and ignite your creativity, leaving you feeling enriched and motivated.

Community Roller Dance

About Community Roller Dance:

Roller Dance is a type of roller skating that has been around for decades. Community Roller Dance Sessions are a friendly, no-pressure space to learn the art of roller dance together. We cater for beginners and more advanced skaters. You must be able to stand still on skates, go forward and stop safely.  We will learn basic steps from Downtown, Zero, Strut Walk, to learning routines as a group.

Hula Hoop Dance

Evening Classes at Yorkshire Dance

A hula hoop dance class suitable for all levels – whether you’ve never picked up a hoop before or if you practice regularly! We will look at waist hooping and you will learn fun hula hoop tricks that we will put together into a short routine.

What to Wear

Comfortable clothing. Indoor shoes or bare feet. Hoops are provided.

Learn basic clay handbuilding skills while making a clay mug for your favourite drink!

In this creative hands on session led by Jo Woffinden, bring your own ideas to life while learning slab and surface texture techniques in ceramics. You will create a personalised mug for yourself or as a perfect gift!

How to Paint a Bee Workshop

Join artist and illustrator Helen Broadhead for a fun filled 'How to paint a bee'  workshop.

This will be a fun, creative session learning how to paint a bee on canvas
We will use print making and various mark making techniques to create a fun background and then learn to paint the bee design.
