Introduction to Collagraph Printing with Abbie Mooney

Your tutor, Abbie Mooney, will guide you through the process of layering textures and marks to create unique printing plates that will then be inked up and rolled through our traditional roller press to create a range of original prints.

This workshop is perfect for beginners or those who have tried other printmaking processes before as Abbie will equip you with the skills to combine new and familiar techniques to make artwork that is personal to you.

Introduction to Bookbinding - Three Techniques with Abbie Mooney

Your tutor, Abbie Mooney, will guide you step-by-step through pamphlet stitch, concertina and Japanese stab binding, with plenty of time to devlop your skills and knowledge in a small group.

The workshop is perfect for beginners and you will leave the workshop with helpful guides to make your own books at home, as well as three of your very own handmade books. All materials and equipment included.

Intro to Partnered Charleston

The Charleston is vibrant improvised dance popular in the 1920s and 30s and today! In this course we cover two different styles of partnered Charleston - the 1920s version that you might see in the musicals and movies of that era and 30s Charleston, the kickier version from the swing era.

This four week course is open to complete beginners. It's a fun introduction to social partner dancing and a gateway to other related dance styles.

You don't need a partner to book on.

Baby Week Friday Fun-day! The Leeds celebration!

Baby Week is back (14 to 20 November) and this year the opening event is all about creativity, new experiences and having the best start. We're so excited to be hosting the event in the City Centre - so get ready for a winter walk as we host a selection of events across the city centre!

Friday fun-day is a jam-packed day with 5 potential stops along the way, all FREE to attend, with fun activities aimed at 0 to 5s, as well as support and giveaways for parents/carers!

A chance to meet old friends and new. Come and dance, share food together, and enjoy a great performance.

This will be a day in 3 parts - come to the whole day, or drop in at the time that suits you. Admission is pay-what-you-can (so, literally, if you’re skint you can come for nothing; if money’s not a problem for you right now, then please be generous).

Join us in our monthly life drawing class with Gallery favourite, experienced artist and tutor, Rob Oldfield.

This workshop is open to everyone, from newcomers who want to take up a hobby through to experienced artists looking to hone their sketching skills.

Materials including various papers, pencils, charcoal and drawing boards will be supplied, but please feel free to bring your own too.
