Ballet 2-4 | Saturday Superstars Dance Class

Learn ballet from professional dance tutors in a friendly, safe environment. This class is an introduction to ballet and dancing in a playful and fun environment.  

During the term each group will work on a dance to perform as part of an informal sharing for parents at the end of term.  

Booking for the Autumn term is now open. The Autumn term runs from 13 September to 13 December with our Children and their Grown Ups festival on 18 October and a half term break on 25 October.

Parents & Tots (ages 0 - 4) Movement session | Yorkshire Dance

Parents and Tots is a fun movement session to build your little one’s confidence to crawl, move, toddle and dance in a safe environment. This session is for families with babies and young children aged 0-4 (older siblings and non-crawlers are very welcome).

In each class the dance tutors lead the group through playful movement activities using a variety of props, music and obstacles to stimulate the senses. Parents and Tots is a great place to meet other young families and share experiences and memories together.

Playground for Under-5s

A playful, creative space inspired by a different artwork each time welcomes very young people and their carers to explore, discover and experiment with different materials and ideas.

Designed by artist Clare Devlin and this time inspired by Christopher Wood's 'Anemones in a Cornish Window' (1930), Artspace will be transformed by things found outdoors.

Drop-in anytime between 10am and 12 noon.

Join NTA and two time BAFTA award winning script writer Mark Catley for a writing masterclass.

This short course, hosted by The Mill School of Performance and University Centre Leeds will provide a comprehensive and practical look at all elements of storytelling, structure, characterisation, dialogue and how to break into the industry. 

Suitable for writers of TV, Film, Stage or Novels. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, this course is designed to help you to take your work to the next level.

Theatre of the Oppressed Workshop: Recovering Power

A two-hour workshop where participants use creative play (images, sounds, words and bodily movements) to reimagine power relationships (e.g. sexism, racism, and classism).

Open to ages 16+ with an emphasis on curious, engaged, and diverse folks who want to explore how to ‘recover power’.

This 2-hour workshop will explore power relationships between people, and between people and institutions in a range of everyday scenarios to consider how we can recognise and transform differ-ent forms of dominating power (such as sexism, racism, and classism amongst others).

Poetry Workshop: Re-covery

Hannah Stone and Clare Wigzell lead a poetry workshop on how we find and re-make ourselves through exploring different layers of our experiences. We can re-grow even when we’ve been knocked about by life’s storms.
