LGBT History Month Walking Tour (with Kit Heyam)

We have linked up with Leeds Civic Trust this LGBT History Month for a walking tour of locations and venues integral to the LGBTQ+ community of Leeds.  LGBT History Month's theme for 2025 is activism and social change and we think it's important to know where a community has come from to help it get to where it needs to go.

The tour will uncover sites from Leeds' Queer past along a route following the trail of Leeds Civic Trust's 2018 rainbow plaques.  There will also be some bonus history thrown in - inspired by the West Yorkshire Queer Stories archive.

Explore the Rainbow: An LGBT+ History Tour

To celebrate this year's LGBT+ History Month, on Thursday 6 February we'll be joined by local historian Clifford Stead who will guide members of our community on a tour of the Leeds Civic Trust & Leeds LGBT+ HUB Rainbow Plaque Trail.

Celebrate the stories, events, and people who’ve shaped Leeds' LGBT+ heritage with us on this memorable tour, featuring some of the trail’s key highlights.

We advise anyone with accessibilty requirements to get in touch with us prior to the event so we can ensure its suitability.

Entangled: Leeds Craftivists Felt Workshop

Leeds Craftivists are proud to partner with Leeds artist Pippa Woodhams on our Transform Trade campaign.

Alongside Pippa’s long history of campaigning for trade justice in Leeds, she is a talented felt-maker, and her current exhibition "Entangled" explores relations between the industrial history of the mill and its environment. In this special workshop, she will give a tour of the exhibition, and help us make our own felt creations inspired by her work.

The letters will create a word linked to one of the women.
