Rabbit Rumble!!!

We are hosting a bunny bonanza inspired by Jamie Smart’s Bunny Vs. Monkey series where we’ll be building Lego carrots to be bowled over using coding with Sphero and Lego, and marble runs! Plus, we’ll be creating Easter-themed comics and illustrating awesome animal characters! Taking place at various venue across the city:

Monday 7th April, 11am-12noon - Ardsley and Tingley Library (Lego only)

Tuesday 8th April, 10.30am-11.30am - Rothwell Community Hub and Library (Lego only)

Tuesday 8th April, 1.30pm-3pm - Leeds Central Library

INDIs Film Fest 2025: Kindred VR

An intimate and emotional journey brought to life through VR.

Step into Kindred, an animated VR film that tells the remarkable true story of Syd, the first non-binary trans person to adopt a child in the UK. Through first-person narration and immersive animation, experience Syd’s journey through the adoption process—facing years of setbacks before finally being matched with Ollie, a gender-questioning child who would become their family.

Tickets for this VR experience are free and available on the door.

Sessions run every 30 minutes from 12:15pm with each lasting around 15 minutes. There will be a break from 2pm to 2:30pm. 

Please speak to a member of staff on arrival for directions to the VR experience.

Teen Code Club

If you're aged 13 - 16 and are interested in coding, game and app development, robotics, AI, machine learning, 3D printing and more, then join us at our new code club in Studio 12!

You'll have free access to a wide range of technologies to explore, tinker with, and develop your skills in a friendly environment.

Retro Games Night

Come and join us for a FREE evening of classic gaming including classics such as Street Fighter 2, Bomberman, Guitar Hero, Super Mario Bros, Goldeneye, Donkey Kong, MarioKart, Smash Bros, PacMan, Mortal Kombat, Sonic the Hedgehog plus loads more games on a variety of consoles.

As always there will be a couple of gaming challenges to enter as well as a range of food and drink at the venue too!

Green Libraries Week Digital Drop In Special

Join us at this Digi Drop-in Special where we will be celebrating Leeds parks and green spaces by browsing a specially curated digital gallery of archive photographs on Leodis.net.

Either bring your own device or use one of the library PCs. There will be librarians on hand to offer digital support and plenty of books to inform and inspire.

AI in Libraries: Beyond the Hype

The public launch of ChatGPT in late 2022 triggered huge levels of interest in AI and machine learning. This panel discussion will go beyond the hype to look at the benefits AI might offer for libraries, their diverse range of users and communities. The pace at which technologies evolve can create a sense of rapid change – but humans (and their needs) adapt more slowly.
