Rush Hour Jazz with Dudley Nesbitt

Trinidad born Dudley Nesbitt is one of the great steelpan pioneers. He plays Trinidadian calypso, Brazilian samba, Bossa Nova, soul tunes, Rumba Cha Cha and Caribbean Jazz. You’ll be smiling and dancing at the rush hour jazz in the Seven Arts bar. Richard Ormrod is also part of the JazzLeeds house band tonight – he’s on drums!

There’s no need to book, just rock up in the bar and take a seat.

The gig is pay as you feel (payf), and all the money donated goes to the performers of that evening.

Tuesday Night Live: Duncan McFarlane, Anne Brivonese and Steve Foster + Beth Kilburn

Three of the award winning Duncan McFarlane Band offer up their Acoustic Trio, playing an entertaining blend of Progressive, Contemporary, Self-Penned and Traditional Folk Songs. Guitar, fiddle and a variety of other instruments – all three singing with style, panache – and lashings of good humour to boot! For over twenty years now they have graced many a Festival Main Stage from Shrewsbury to Sidmouth, from Otley to Ely, from Costa del Folk Spain, to Denmark!

Benn Clatworthy Quartet. Support from Sophie Speed Quintet

From storming post-Coltrane energy to beautiful ballad playing, Los Angeles-based Benn Clatworthy has matured into a truly great tenor player. A favourite with our JazzLeeds audiences for many years for his emotional playing and his dry sense of humour, supported by a top-class rhythm section, he’ll be playing some tunes from his recent UK release, “The Pursuit”.

Tuesday Night Live: The Wild Geese

After over 35 years of playing locally around Yorkshire and further afield in Ireland and places like the US, The Wild Geese have a backstory of supporting the likes of Dervish, Liam O’Flynn, Arty McGlyn and Sean Keane and a history of creating lasting friendships with their unique blend of trad and modern music mixed with affirming banter.
