Raquel Alvaro and Rose Perry

Raquel Alvaro has appeared for us on the Chapel Allerton Festival Main Stage as part of the Brasukas and as part of the Anna Chandler-King Nonet concert. Tenor sax player Rose Perry is no stranger to Seven Arts at Chapel Allerton either having performed with the Tom Sharp jazz orchestra in several memorable concerts at Seven Arts. they’ll be accompanied by Will Powell on guitar Steve Crocker bass and Brendan Bache on percussion.

The Rhythm Section

A ‘Rhythm and Grooves’ Chapel Allerton based organ jazz trio playing their own take on tunes from Booker T & The MG’s, Kenny Burrell, Ramsey Lewis and Little Walter to The Doors, Steely Dan, Blue Boy and Stevie Wonder… along with original instrumentals.

John Scully

John Scully is a trumpet player and jazz vocalist from Leeds, who plays in the classic style of Armstrong and Eldridge. Frequently heard with the Big Easy swing band , Jon enjoys jazz and orchestral music.

At Rush Hour Jazz he’ll play some of his favourite tunes with the Jazz Leeds trio. Chill out with a drink or coffee after work for an hour’s jazz in Seven Bar.

B D Lenz Trio

It’s July, so it must mean the return of B.D Lenz trio and for their only Yorkshire gig during their UK tour. Every year they raise the roof with a fantastic afternoon concert for us at Jazzleeds- a concert not to be missed!

B.D. Lenz is a guitarist extraordinaire based out of the New Jersey/New York area. His ensemble summons the sophisticated sounds of Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Duke Ellington. B.D has played guitar since his early teens and has studied with such masters as Mike Stern, Vic Juris, and Charlie Banacos along the way..

Leeds International Piano Competition Open Season: Open Mic Events

Join the Leeds International Piano Competition for fun, inclusive and engaging piano based open-mics events at Leeds Playhouse as part of Open Season.

Both events will feature a headliner and then anyone is welcome to turn up and play or perform at the piano to a friendly audience. Participants can either play on their own or perform with someone else for example as a singer and an accompanist.
