Go Figure - Monthly Self-Led Life Drawing

Come and join us for a fun and friendly life drawing session. Go Figure is a regular event held here at Swarthmore, look out for it every first Thursday of the month,  6pm - 8pm!

There will be no tutor leading this session but it will be hosted by a member of the Swarthmore team. There are a number of easels and drawing boards available to use, but do feel free to bring your own.

There will be a rotation of both male and female life models and on occassion we will have multiple models in the same session.

Intro to Crochet - Make a Granny Square with Ingrid Bolton-Gabrielsen

Join Ingrid on this beginner friendly crochet workshop where you will be introduced to the world of fibre arts and taught the foundations of crocheting, before working through the individual steps to create a traditional crocheted Granny Square.

You will take your work and skills home, and some inspiration of where your crochet journey may lead next!

Ingrid has been crocheting for several years and recommends it to everyone she meets. Come and join in the crochet addiction!

The Moor Market ~ Start of the Summer

Join us for The Start of the Summer, a Moor Market event held on Saturday 22nd June. 

There will be a variety of vendors, fabulous food, drinks - including alcoholic beverages, table tennis, a free library and second hand sustainable shopping… a market that brings makers and the community together for a family fun day! 

It’s free to enter, accessible for all and suitable for all ages! Plus you can bring your dogs too!

Botanical Art - Watercolour Lilies with Artist Monair Hyman

Gently but expertly guided by Monair, you will be observing from life and the examples in Art Library books and Special Collections to produce botanical drawings. You will learn colour mixing and transfer all your ideas to a final piece using Winsor and Newton watercolour paints.

All materials are included and the paint palette will be yours to take home.

Sew a cat for International Cat Day!

Ideal for those new to using a sewing machine. In this small class you will enjoy making your own personalised cat ready for International Cat Day.

You will learn sewing machine health and safety, threading the machine and loading a bobbin, sewing on a curve, cutting, assembling, and sewing the project.

All materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own cotton fabric if you wish.

Jewellery Making Club

Your creative weekend starts here.

Enjoy the relaxing mindful craft of jewellery making in our weekly group suitable for all abilities. This friendly informal session with experienced jeweller Amanda Burton will help you learn how to make wire, paper and beaded jewellery from scratch.

Suitable for complete beginners looking to get started and the more experienced makers who would like to work in a sociable and creative setting to develop ideas.

This session is aimed at adults. Children aged 13+ are able to attend if accompanied by an adult.
