Join our guest artist for a unique still life drawing opportunity, using some of the Discovery Centre's incredible objects to inspire you. This is an introductory workshop so all skill levels are welcome!

Join us for a creative writing session at Leeds Discovery Centre, with objects on display to spark inspiration and curiosity. The creative writing session is for anyone who wants to write fiction/non-fiction, plays or poems and is open to all-whether you're an absolute beginner or a more regular writer. We will discuss writing practises and techniques and do some short writing exercises to help develop your skills in a supportive environment.
Bring photographs to life through the art of stitch, cherishing memories of nature and the outdoors. Create three dimensional stitched pieces using photo transfer, dissolvable fabric and a variety of hand embroidery stitches. Learn a new machine embroidery technique to construct sculptural installations that dance between two and three dimensions.

Discover the beautiful art of stitching pages together to create a book in this inspiring beginners book binding workshop. Throughout this engaging class, you will learn all the essential techniques and skills needed to create your very own hand-bound note book.

Make your own totally unique scrappy bird and learn how to copper foil and solder stained glass.
You'll then get to complete your bird with wire legs and googly eyes.
Please note - there is no glass cutting involved in this workshop, it's the perfect session for those wanting a little taster into glass.
