Presented by award-winning vocalist and world-class trumpet player, Gareth John and featuring the stunning SOS Big Band, The Story of Swing takes you on a musical journey through decades of the iconic genre of swing and big band music.

Featuring the classic, much-loved hits of Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr, right through to modern-day crooners such as Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, Matt Goss, Paul Anka and Harry Connick Jr.

Yorkshire Day Celebrations

Join us for Yorkshire Day Celebrations in Morley Town Centre.

Enjoy a family fun filled day of stalls, food and drink, fairground rides, teapot trail and an outdoor cinema showing of Paddington at 2pm.

Welcome to Warsaw - a city teeming with secrets and whispers of mythical creatures you wouldn’t dare to dream of. Immerse yourself in the story of brave Magda, who embarks on a quest to save her little brother from the claws of a terrifying monster. Narrated by the ever-curious Rat Squad, this tale will have you in stitches.

Who's In The House

Join us for our first ever Open Season Show. It will be a music melting pot with something for everyone. Some of our longest standing teachers and ensembles will perform alongside new talent, through Music House’s latest young recruits – New Generation.

Music House Gospel Choir, led by MOBO nominee, Leroy Johnson, will raise the roof and your spirits. Whilst the country’s first and only youth reggae choir, Reggae Roots, led by reggae pioneer, Judah, will mellow the mood.

Meanwood Festival Poetry Showcase

Join us at Terminus for this showcase of poetry and spoken word, featuring Meanwood writers Su Ryder and Ian Harker, reading work from their recent books. Your compere is Joe Williams, another local writer and the host of regular poetry night Chemistry. There’s also the chance for you to share a poem or two of your own on our open mic.

This event is part of Meanwood Festival 2024.

Opera North: Little Listeners - Mini Vixen

Join Opera North for a fun, family-friendly adventure into the forest. Our adventure takes place in a mystical woodland where a Vixen meets a Fox. As their friendship grows, they discover how working together is vital to protect their home and the habitat around them.  

Based on the music and story of Janáček’s opera The Cunning Little Vixen and led by a cast of professional opera singers and musicians, join us for this interactive and relaxed concert where singing and moving around is encouraged. Experience the magic of opera, storytelling and music, whatever your age!
