Curated by James Mainwaring, join us every third Sunday of the month for live music from 9pm, followed by an open jam so bring your instruments down if you'd like to get involved!

Leeds Jazz Festival returns for its second year from 25 - 30 May 2023, following the inaugural festival between 1st and 12th June 2022. The event aims to unite and celebrate the musicians, venues, promoters, audiences and organisations who are part of the Leeds Jazz tapestry - whilst showcasing the best of local, national and international music.

Just One More Shove!

The ‘Shove It’ documentary is the story of Xero Slingsby.

Matthew Coe, aka Xero Slingsby was an extraordinary jazz musician.  He’s been compared to John Coltrane and Jimi Hendrix – but his style was always very much his own.  His is a story abut ideas, performance, invented instruments, 47 arrests for busking yet busking to make a living.  It’s an inspiring story of creativity in the face of limited means, circumstances, overly officious laws and, ultimately, cancer.

Aire to There - Traineeship for Young People

Aire to There is a new paid traineeship, where 10 young people from Leeds aged 16-25 will learn the local and international history of the Leeds Waterfront, uncover hidden stories and use their voice to guide others by creating audio tracks for walking and boat tours. It is part of a region wide programme, Ignite Yorkshire, which aims to connect young people and Yorkshire’s industrial stories.
