Young Persons Print-Making Workshop inspired by Historical Japanese Woodcuts
Workshop
Family friendly
Event organiser:
Otley Courthouse

Young artists will investigate the world of Japanese art in this expressive drawing and printmaking workshop. Age 11 - 16.

10 am - 3 pm.

Taking inspiration from traditional woodblock prints, students will explore mark making and composition to create bold, graphic fish designs.

Working with colourful inks and experimental printmaking techniques, they’ll produce dynamic prints full of movement, texture, and contrast. From swirling water patterns to stylised forms, this hands-on session encourages creative risk-taking, visual storytelling, and exploration of traditional and contemporary print approaches.

This workshop is led by Emma-Jayne Emmott, a qualified teacher, professional photographer and resident artist at The Otley Courthouse.

Young people will need to bring a snack and packed lunch.
