Join Helen Brook in the Community Space at Calverley Old Hall this January for a unique and inspiring experience. This workshop invites participants into a space of quiet reflection and sensory exploration, offering an opportunity to reconnect with the grounding power and subtle magic of the winter season through creative expression.
You will leave with a personal, unique and scent-inspired artwork feeling relaxed and inspired to embrace the winter season. Through expressive mark-making and the use of seasonal botanicals, we will engage the senses and explore winter’s potential for rest, renewal, and creative awakening - even in its darkest and coldest days.
We'll begin with a nature-guided meditation session, where you will be invited to inhale and reflect on individual plant-based essential oils, tuning into the memories, feelings, and imagery they evoke in you.
Following this, we’ll channel those impressions into a creative session of scent-inspired expressive mark-making. You will use botanical materials and natural inks, and will be guided in responding to scent through colour, shape, and line on paper.
