
This event has been arranged as part of the “Wetherby Arts Festival 2025” and Wetherby Town Council have kindly agreed the event can use King George’s field, in Wetherby, opposite the Ings.
The idea is to encourage local artists and the community to take part and enjoy painting outside with fellow artists/ friends and share the beautiful setting in Wetherby by the river Wharfe.
On the day 20 artists will be shortlisted and will be eligible to exhibit their piece in Wetherby Town Hall on 4th & 5th October, which is the first weekend of the Festival. These artists will be chosen by a local artist/gallery who will visit the event between 1.30 – 2.30 pm. A final winner will be chosen at the exhibition in the Town Hall and will receive £50 prize money.Entrants must be over 18

Shortlisted artists will need to frame their piece for the exhibition and deliver to the Town Hall at a date and time to be agreed.
Entrants should take responsibility to ensure they do not cause any health and safety hazard to others who may be using the field on the day.
Gazebos will not be permitted on site but you can bring umbrellas.
Entry is non returnable in the event of bad weather.

It is £10 to entry the competition but anyone can come along and paint in the field but you will not be eligible to be shortlisted for the competition.

Wheelchair access but it is a steep slope to the field, but it has wheelchair friendly paths.
