As part of our Heritage Open Day celebrations we are hosting a week of lunchtime recitals of Victorian Ballads, played and performed live by a host of enthusiastic volunteers. This series of lunch time recitals will take place on the 1st floor of Leeds Central Library in the new Music Library between 1-2pm every day from the 15th to the 19th of September 2025.
All are welcome to be entertained by performances of the often-comical pieces for piano in the beautiful setting of the library as part of the Heritage Open Days Festival.
Singing Ballads such as:
TIDDY FOL LOL, WHERE THE GRASS GROWS GREEN, TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS LOVE, PADDLE YOUR OWN CANOE, POLLY PERKINS OF PADDINGTON GREEN OR THE BROKEN HEARTED MILKMAN, BLOW GENTLY WINDS BLOW GENTLY and WHILE MY LOVE IS ON THE SEA.
