The V Word

Pelvic pain? Cover it in glitter.

Meet Rose. A single-minded perfectionist leading a charmed life – until she develops vulval pain. Desperate to eliminate it, she struggles against patriarchal medicine (and the three flamboyant actors intent on telling her story as a musical) to embark on a journey that will redefine her relationship to sex, pain and her own body.

‘The V Word’ is an irreverent twist on the earnest autobiographical illness show. A love letter to musical theatre that throws a spotlight on the medical misogyny we’ve all accepted as normal. For any woman, vulva-owner or vulva-sympathiser with a thirst for knowledge, a need for hope, or a taste for banging tunes.

Join the Creative Team for an exclusive work-in-progress Rehearsed Reading of 'The V Word', after a week of Research & Development.
