Join us for a very special evening with multi-BAFTA-winning creator, writer and director Sally Wainwright, as we celebrate her remarkable career and her latest series, Riot Women.
Hosted by Professor Beth Johnson (Vice Chair of RTS Yorkshire, Professor of Television & Media Studies at the University of Leeds), this 90-minute conversation will trace Sally’s creative journey - from the grit and heart of Happy Valley to the bold, ground-breaking storytelling of Gentleman Jack - culminating in an in-depth discussion of Riot Women.
With selected clips from her most acclaimed work, this event will explore how Sally crafts unforgettable characters and compelling worlds, as well as what inspired Riot Women, how it came to life, and what she hopes audiences will take away from it.
