Spoken Word
Workshop

This workshop looks at poetry as a way to find your voice.

Using words to make poetry or protest. This is for beginners but anyone can enjoy poetry and gain a different perspective. Poetry is a way to connect people and shape people through talking and learning with a few creative activities to get you thinking about what you want to say let's create our history.

Dalton Harrison is a dyslexic trans man with a history of prison. He is in his third year of studying for a criminal justice and criminology BA and he believes that is why he did the practical before the theory.

Dalton has had his poetry changed into art, music and contemporary dance. He has performed at The Playhouse, Leeds Lieder Festival, Leeds Poetry Festival, Leeds Lit Festival, Leeds 2023 and for The BBC Contains Stong language festival. Dalton has talked in universities across the country and collaborated internationally also working as a consultant for television. Dalton has been published in Pink News, Queer AF, Trans_muted and several anthologies including Twenty-eight. His debut poetry collection The Boy Behind The Wall is a poetry memoir of his life.
