Music

Introducing Congolese artist Noémi Jazzmine will be taking the stage at @hydeparkbookclub on June 29th, showcasing her genre-blending songwriting that fuses Rumba, Seben, R&B, and Gospel music – all while interchanging languages of English, Lingala, and French. Although she’s only been part of the Leeds music scene for the past six months being based in Nottingham, she’s already performed at venues @vinylwhistle ,@utm_studio ,@dominoclubleeds and even gracing the stage at @leedsjazzfest on May 24th as part of @djlubijovanovic 's Takeover at the @welcometoleeds stage.

Her work as a political activist has led her to join the panel discussion for the screening of the film Soundtrack to a Coup d'État, organized by the @congoleseactionyouthplatform. This powerful documentary explores the assassination of the first Prime Minister of the DRC, Patrice Lumumba

Featuring Noémi on stage is SIL-VAH, an Angolan-Portuguese Afrobeat artist based in Leeds. His sound fuses rich African rhythms with modern production, capturing real-life emotions and experiences through blending smooth melodies with powerful storytelling.

He has opened for acts like 'Stefflon Don' and 'Sai So' along with his music regularly featured on BBC Radio. He is also an Afrobeat/Afrohouse dancer, having caught the attention of UK Afroswing group NSG, Mr Eazi, imjustbait, Rising Talents, and many other influencers

Our Support act is Devon Salinas, a Neo Soul artist bringing a fresh, genre-blending sound to the modern soul scene. Hailing from the heart of America, Devon combines the richness of Blues, the groove of Neo Soul, and the sophistication of Jazz to create music that’s both timeless and unmistakably his own.

Influenced by icons like D’Angelo, Isaiah Sharkey, and Michael Jackson, Devon’s sound is smooth, soulful, and deeply rooted in emotional connection. His laid-back, feel-good style lifts spirits and invites listeners to unwind and truly feel the music.
